Impact of complete revascularization in coronary artery bypass grafting for ischemic cardiomyopathy

چکیده
ObjectiveIn patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy, coronary artery bypass grafting ensures better survival than medical therapy. However, the long-term clinical impact of complete revascularization remains unclear. This observational study aimed to evaluate effects on and left ventricular functional recovery in cardiomyopathy undergoing grafting.MethodsWe retrospectively reviewed outcomes 498 who underwent (n = 386) or incomplete 112) myocardial between 1993 2015. The baseline characteristics were adjusted using inverse probability treatment weighting reduce bias potential confounding. mean follow-up duration was 77.2 ± 42.8 months survivors.ResultsThe overall 5-year rate (complete revascularization, 72.5% vs 57.9%, P .03) freedom from all-cause death and/or readmission due heart failure (54.5% 40.1%, .007) significantly greater those revascularization. After adjustments weighting, group demonstrated a lower risk (hazard ratio, 0.61; 95% confidence interval, 0.43-0.86; .005) composite adverse events 0.59; 0.44-0.79; < .001) improvement ejection fraction 1-year postoperatively (absolute change: 11.0 11.9% 8.3 11.4%, interaction effect .05) group.ConclusionsIn grafting, associated should be encouraged whenever possible.

Consequences of coronary artery bypass grafting in smokers and addicts
Introduction: The most common cardiac disease is coronary artery disease (CAD) in the world. Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is implemented through two standard surgical techniques, namely off-pump beating-heart CABG (OPCABG) and on-pump CABG (ONCABG). The CABG results in various levels of morbidity, especially in smokers and addicts, who have a lower pain threshold. Regarding this, the ...
متن کاملTotal Arterial Revascularization in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Surgery
Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) operations are one of the most commonly performed sur‐ gical procedures, with a worldwide prevalence of over 800,000 annually and more than 350,000 operations being performed in the United States each year [1]. The use of the left internal mam‐ mary artery (LIMA) is widely considered to be the gold standard for conventional CABG opera‐ tions. Its use has been...
متن کاملImpact of Myocardial Revascularization Method on Smoking Cessation: Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting versus Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
INTRODUCTION Smoking is a serious public health issue, being a precursor of heart disease and a predictor of sudden death due to myocardial ischemia. Major events in the patient's health can lead to radical changes in habits and the choice for different myocardial revascularization methods might differently impact smoking cessation and relapse. OBJECTIVE To study the rate and perpetuation of ...
متن کاملMinimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass grafting for third-time coronary artery revascularization.
We performed a minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass (MIDCAB) on two patients for third-time revascularization. The first patient was a 66-year-old woman who had patent bilateral internal thoracic artery (ITA) grafts and an occluded radial artery (RA) graft anastomosed to the posterolateral (PL) branch. She underwent her third revascularization for left circumflex coronary artery rec...

Background and purpose: Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is used in treating coronary artery disease. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of mortality for CABG and its associated factors in Mazandaran Heart Center, Iran. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out in 600 patients. Incidence of death was recorded during CABG and before discharge. Ass...
